How to Apply

Before you Plan to apply , read the   heading ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR GENERAL DIVISION. (given on the left side of the page)

FOR registration you should have all the documents mentioned in eligibilty criteria ( main documents are experience certificate of house job from pmdc, good stading certificate from pmdc, Ielts score card). IF you have all these then,

1.Download the form of registration for General Division. . you can download from from this link

http://www.medicalcouncil.ie/Registration/Generic-Application-Form-version-3-June-2013.pdf

2, Fill the form care Fully, dont forget to tick the exemption from P R E S if you are looking for exemption. (its better that you use the blessing of exemption)

3. Fee should be paid by using VISA OR MASTER card, at the end of the form they will ask about your card details. mention that
or another way of paying fee is that you can pay it via their ONLINE PORTAL forum through their website. online portal method is a way in which you register on IMC website . make you log in and then you enter you visa /master card number and then they will deduct the fee at once, after that they will send you and email as recipiet of fee , attach the print of that mail with the registration from. if you have paid fee via online portal then you don't have to mention your visa card details on the from that you will mail to IMC.

here is the link of  ONLINE PORTAL

FEE is about 50000 PKR,  if you don,t have credit card then i think visa debit card of standard chartered bank pakistan works best for online payments .

this is only the initial assessment fee and it is non refundable if your application is rejected, after successful assessment you will have to pay further 510 euro as annual retention fee. but you will have to pay it only when you recieve and email of successful assessment from IMC

4. attach your other documents. now its important to know whether you have to attach your original certificate or their copy
you can send the original or attested copy of ielts and experience certificate. you can attach them yourself with  the form . there is no need to ask pmdc and ielts exam center to send your copy to IMC. now who will attest the copy? NOTARIZED ATTORNEY CAN ATTEST IT. or in simple word oath commissioner from any kachehri of Pakistan can attest it.

5. good standing certificate MUST BE SENT BY THE PMDC. keep it in your mind you will not send PMDC good standing certificate yourself. the best way is that when pmdc infroms you that your good standing certifcate is ready then go yourself to pmdc islamabad, collect it from their office yourself , ask them to seal it in their official envelop, get the envelop stampped from the dispatch department of pmdc, get a diary number of it and then take it to tcs office and mail it . if you can't go then ask pmdc to send it theirselves at the address of IMC. but as i don't trust PMDC so i will request you to go yourself.

6. In short pay fee via online portal, attach its print with the form, fill the form and attach attested copies of experience and ielts with it and mail it to IMC. then apply for good standing certificate and ask PMDC to send it. i already told in eligibility criteria that why good standing should be made at the end.

when IMC will receive your application form then they will mail you about that.

IMC usualy takes 6 months to declare you eligible, it might take 1 year .

Eligibilty criteria for General Division

1. If you want to get registration in general division then you must have done House job . If you have started you house job in 2009 or after that  in Pakistan then you are exepted from the P R E S

* House job rotation and P R E S are two different complicated topics so I have mentioned them in seperate heading . see in heading on the left side of the page for their details..
DON'T FORGET TO READ ABOUT ROTATIONS OF HOUSE JOB AS IT IS ONE OF THE MOST COMPLICATED THING FOR REGISTRATION IN IMC.

2.  Experience certificate from PMDC ( pakistan medical and dental council)
IMC does not accepts direct house job certifcated from your hospitals. you will have to get experience certifcate . for this you will download a form from PMDC website . fill it ,pay fee which is  usally 1600 rs ,attach your all house job certificates attached by princiapl of medical college and send them to pmdc. PMDC will issue you experience certificate in a few months . pmdc might take 4-6 months for this or even more then that. the trick for that is just try to find any contact in PMDC.

you can download experience certifcate form from this link

http://www.pmdc.org.pk/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=eIzKK2gQC1k%3d&tabid=98&mid=543

* if you are doing training in Pakistan then don't ask PMDC to mention your training in that. For registration in IMC you just need experience document about your house job only. So send only your house job certificates to PMDC .

you should get good standing certificate from PMDC . the fee for that is 5000 or 6000. you can download form for that from the website . fill it, send it to PMDC and PMDC will issue you.

IELTS is english language assesment test. you can give it in Pakistan.
the required score for IMC registration is 6.5 in each module and 7 overall.

when  you have got all these documents ready then you are ready to apply for Registration In IMC.

TIPS

here are a few tips how you should make your documents ready

First of all do your house job according to the criteria. if you have already done house job then send your hj certificates to PMDC for EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATE, bec pmdc takes a long time in issueing it.

second, while you have applied for experince certificate , give IELTS exam. Prepare for it and Give it and try to get the required band

Third when , both of bove documents are in you hand and you are ready to fill the form and you have the fee for registration then apply for GOOD STANDING CERTIFICATE, as i already told IMC accepts it only if it is dated with in last 3 months before they receive application.so you must apply for GSC at the end.

Healthcare

Although the healthcare system comes under constant criticism from politicians and the public Ireland has one of the best qualified healthcare workers and systems in the developed world.
The Minister for Health has responsibility for setting overall health service policy. Every resident of Ireland is entitled to receive health care through the public health care system, which is managed by the Health Service Executive and funded by general taxation. A person may be required to pay a subsidised fee for certain health care received; this depends on income, age, illness or disability. All maternity services are provided free of charge and children up to the age of 6 months. Emergency care is provided free of charge to any person admitted through the casualty department. However, visitors to Accident and Emergency departments in non-emergency situations who are not referred by their GP may incur a fee of €100. In some circumstances this fee is not payable or may be waived.
Anyone holding a European Health Insurance Card is entitled to free maintenance and treatment in public beds in Health Service Executive and voluntary hospitals. Outpatient services are also provided for free. However, the majority of patients on median incomes or above are required to pay subsidised hospital charges. Private health insurance is available to the population for those who want to avail of it.
The average life expectancy in Ireland is 79.2 years, with 76.8 years for men and 81.6 years for women. It has the highest birth rate in the EU (16.8 births per 1,000 inhabitants, compared to an EU average of 10.7) and a very low infant mortality rate (3.5 per 1,000 live births)
